Strategic Position: JIL sits at the intersection of traditional banking rails (top) and institutional blockchain networks (middle), with its own L1 providing settlement finality, post-quantum security, and beneficiary binding that no other layer offers.
Layer 1

Institutional Blockchain Bridges

The highest-leverage builds connecting JIL to institutional-grade blockchain networks and the global SWIFT ecosystem.

2a. SWIFT + Chainlink CCIP P0 - Highest Leverage

SWIFT completed its blockchain interoperability pilot with Chainlink CCIP in 2024, enabling SWIFT messages to trigger on-chain actions across 60+ blockchain networks. All 11,500+ SWIFT member banks become reachable through a single integration. This is the highest-leverage build for JIL - one connection, maximum reach.

CCIP Build Components

Volume Context: $8.9T stablecoin transfer volume in H1 2025 - already exceeding Visa's quarterly volume. USDC alone settled $4.5T. The GENIUS Act provides federal licensing framework for payment stablecoin issuers in the US.
Layer 2

Emerging Global Infrastructure

New cross-border payment systems under active development by central banks and multilateral institutions. These represent the next generation of global payment infrastructure.

3a. BIS Project Nexus P1

The G20's "internet protocol for payments" - BIS Innovation Hub's Nexus protocol connects domestic instant payment systems across countries. Initial reach covers 1.7 billion people across Southeast Asia, with ECB as observer for future euro zone integration.

India UPI

13B+ transactions/month. Largest instant payment system globally. NPCI operates.

Malaysia DuitNow

National real-time payment system. Cross-border QR with Thailand and Singapore live.

Singapore FAST

24/7 instant transfers. Already linked with Thailand PromptPay and India UPI.

Philippines InstaPay

BSP-supervised instant payment network. Growing cross-border integration.

Thailand PromptPay

National ID/phone-linked payment system. Cross-border QR live with SG, MY, JP.

Indonesia BI-FAST

Bank Indonesia's new real-time rail replacing SKNBI. ISO 20022 native.

ECB Observer: ECB is an observer in Nexus, signaling potential future euro zone integration. If SEPA Instant joins Nexus, JIL's existing SEPA interface would automatically gain cross-border reach into Asia.

3b. Pix International P1

Brazil's Central Bank is expanding Pix internationally through "Pix Roaming" - enabling Brazilian citizens to use Pix abroad and foreign residents to use Pix in Brazil. With 160M+ active users and 4B+ monthly transactions, Pix is the most successful instant payment system launch in history. JIL's existing Pix interface positions it for the international expansion.

3c. CBDC Corridors P2

Central Bank Digital Currencies are progressing from pilot to production across major economies. JIL's post-quantum cryptography and compliance-first architecture make it a natural integration partner for CBDC settlement corridors.

3d. Partior P2

Multi-bank blockchain network founded by JPMorgan, DBS, and Temasek. Singapore-based, focused on atomic settlement for cross-border payments and trade finance. Partior eliminates correspondent banking delays with a shared settlement layer that provides real-time finality and multi-currency clearing across participating banks.

Layer 3

Capital Markets Infrastructure

Securities tokenization, post-trade settlement, and trading protocol integration. This layer connects JIL to the $100T+ in custodied securities and global trading infrastructure.

4a. DTCC Tokenization API P1

DTCC received SEC No-Action relief in December 2025 for tokenized securities settlement. With $100T+ in custody, DTCC holds Russell 1000 equities, major ETFs, and US Treasury securities. Their ComposerX platform and LedgerScan tool enable tokenized asset issuance and settlement. JIL must be an approved blockchain before H2 2026.

4c. FIX Protocol Engine P1

FIX (Financial Information eXchange) is the global standard protocol for pre-trade and trade communication. Every major exchange, broker-dealer, and institutional trading platform speaks FIX. JIL needs a FIX engine for pre-settlement trade capture and DvP coordination.

FIX Message Types

MsgTypeNameDirectionJIL Use Case
35=DNew Order SingleClient to ExchangeInitiate tokenized asset purchase
35=8Execution ReportExchange to ClientTrade confirmation, triggers DvP settlement

35=DKAllocation InstructionPost-tradeAllocate block trade to sub-accounts
35=JAllocation Report (Ack)Post-tradeConfirm allocation received and matched
35=9Order Cancel RejectExchange to ClientReject cancellation request with reason
Implementation: Recommended engine: QuickFIX/J (Java) or QuickFIX/N (.NET). JIL FIX engine handles pre-settlement trade capture, then triggers atomic DvP on JIL L1 when both legs are confirmed.

4d. DvP Settlement Framework P1

Delivery-versus-Payment is the gold standard for institutional settlement. Both the asset leg and the payment leg must settle atomically - either both complete or neither does. JIL's 2-second finality and beneficiary binding make it uniquely positioned to anchor the payment leg.

+====================================================================+ | DvP SETTLEMENT ARCHITECTURE | +====================================================================+ | | | ASSET LEG PAYMENT LEG | | +---------------------------+ +---------------------------+ | | | Tokenized Security | | USDC / JPMD / JIL | | | | on Canton / DTCC | | on JIL L1 | | | +---------------------------+ +---------------------------+ | | | | | | v v | | +----------------------------------------------------------+ | | | CHAINLINK CCIP - ATOMIC TRIGGER | | | | Both legs locked in escrow, released simultaneously | | | +----------------------------------------------------------+ | | | | | | v v | | +---------------------------+ +---------------------------+ | | | Security delivered to | | Payment delivered to | | | | buyer's custody account | | seller's settlement acct | | | +---------------------------+ +---------------------------+ | | | | | | v v | | +----------------------------------------------------------+ | | | JIL FINALITY RECEIPT + FIX EXECUTION REPORT (35=8) | | | | Cryptographic proof of atomic settlement, beneficiary | | | | binding verified, compliance audit trail complete | | | +----------------------------------------------------------+ | +====================================================================+
Layer 4

Regulatory Compliance Bridges

Compliance is not a cost center - it is a moat. These integrations enable JIL to operate across jurisdictions while satisfying the strictest regulatory requirements.

5a. MiCA Compliance Layer P1

The EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) is the world's most comprehensive crypto regulatory framework. Full enforcement began in 2024. JIL must build a compliance layer that satisfies MiCA requirements for operating in the EU/EEA.

CASP Registration

Crypto-Asset Service Provider registration with EU national competent authority. Required for any entity providing crypto services to EU customers. Passportable across all 27 EU member states.

Stablecoin Whitelist

Only MiCA-compliant stablecoins can be offered in EU. JIL must maintain a whitelist of approved stablecoins (EURCV, USDC EU-licensed) and block non-compliant tokens for EU users.

DLT Pilot Regime

EU sandbox for DLT-based market infrastructure. Enables tokenized securities trading and settlement on DLT under regulatory oversight. JIL qualifies as a DLT Settlement System (DLT SS).

DORA Compliance

Digital Operational Resilience Act - ICT risk management, incident reporting, digital operational resilience testing. Applies to all financial entities in EU including CASPs. Effective January 2025.

5b. GLEIF LEI Integration P1

The Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) is a 20-character alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies legal entities in financial transactions. GLEIF (Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation) manages the system. Chainlink has partnered with GLEIF to bring LEI data on-chain. LEI is mandatory for EU/UK/US securities transactions and ISO 20022 field 70F.

On-Chain LEI Binding

Bind LEI to JIL wallet addresses. Proves entity identity at protocol layer. Enables automated counterparty verification.

Chainlink LEI Oracle

Consume GLEIF LEI data via Chainlink oracle. Real-time entity verification without off-chain API calls. Decentralized trust model.

ISO 20022 Field 70F

LEI embedded in ISO 20022 messages (field 70F). JIL's existing ISO 20022 gateway auto-populates LEI for compliant cross-border payments.

Regulatory Mandate: LEI is mandatory for all securities transactions in EU (MiFID II/MiFIR), UK (FCA), and US (SEC/CFTC). JIL's on-chain LEI binding satisfies this requirement at the protocol layer - no manual lookup needed.

Strategic Note: No single institutional blockchain platform has built all these connections. The combination of payment rails (NACHA, SEPA, FedNow, Pix), institutional blockchain bridges (SWIFT/CCIP, Canton, Kinexys), capital markets infrastructure (DTCC, Euroclear, FIX), and regulatory compliance layers (MiCA, LEI) - all anchored by a post-quantum L1 with beneficiary binding and 2-second finality - creates a connectivity moat that would take any competitor years to replicate. JIL is building the institutional connectivity layer that bridges traditional finance and decentralized infrastructure.
